A: Mid Atlantic Machinery, a press brake and custom automation integrator, now includes Olis with all new robot deployments. After successful beta testing, they standardized on Olis due to its affordability, ease of deployment, and dramatic improvements to service efficiency and customer support.
-
A: The screen-sharing functionality enables trainers or service engineers to:
Show customers what to do directly on the teach pendant
Walk users through programming, diagnosis, or maintenance
Educate users in real-time while solving real problems
Build confidence in robot operations over time
-
A: When diagnosing robots in automated (full-speed) mode, human proximity may be unsafe. Olis allows:
Video observation of high-speed motions (e.g., regripping, clamping)
Remote visibility where the human eye or physical presence is limited
Fault analysis without exposure to moving machinery
Diagnosis of issues like valves not firing or grippers misbehaving
Technical Questions
-
A: Use Olis to install a VNC server on your robot. Once the server is installed, launch the VNC in the Olis app to have a complete interactive view of the teach pendant. Share a present live link with yourself to have remote access to the pendant from wherever you are.
-
A: Download and install the Olis app. Set the static IP of your tablet to be on the same subnet as your PLC. Connect the tablet to your PLC via an ethernet cable. Add the PLC in the app and view a searchable list of your real-time tag values.
